On That Day

This week’s poem in the Catholic Poetry Room is by Gerard Garrigan, O.S.B.

On That Day

On that day
Which no man knows
And for which
All men long
(“ … the blind receive their sight … ”);
Until that day
All men stumble
In the dark
With broken knuckles
And bleeding hearts.
