Contrite Dew

This week’s poem in the Catholic Poetry Room is by Jeremy Long.

Contribute Dew

Every dawn I awake to see
the grass has cried again.

This is what it’s like to be
away from your sun.

By midday your light has
dried all that’s been;
dew is the mourning of love.
So it must be these tears
that let us come near to you
without burning up.
